Did you ever notice that young folks are rarely, if ever, called "Wise". They may be smart, intelligent, or savvy but they are not wise.
A dictionary has defined wisdom as:
- The ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight.
- Common sense; good judgment.
- The sum of learning through the ages; knowledge.
It is not just one or two of these, it is all three.
The Book of Proverbs referencing "Wisdom", states
"Happy is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.""
Wisdom is the result of an accumulation of learning, knowledge, and experience (yours or someone elses). It takes years/decades to accumulate this. They don't teach wisdom in school.
Observing and listening are the best ways to gain wisdom. Participation (depending on the function) is very useful as well.
Having said all that, as an octogenarian I have gained a significant level of wisdom through all these ways. As a "Born Again" Christian, it is my duty (and my privilege) to pass along what I have learned.
From my wisdom (and a bunch of common sense) I need to tell you that
ONLY YOU can make the decision to accept Jesus as your Lord & Savior. You have to WANT to do that. You can't just say it, you have to do it.
This website is a tool you can use to accomplish this.
